Fruit & Protein Pita Pockets

Easy, healthy and delicious fruit & protein pita pockets. It's hard to find recipes that can be described using all 3 of these words. However, this tried and true fruit & protein pita pockets recipe, a favorite of ours, is sure to deliver on them. Fresh fruit for natural sweetness, creamy cottage cheese for protein, all housed in a convenient, grab & go, mess-free fruit & protein pita pockets.  Perfect for after school, before the gym, or even lunch on the run!

How to Make


  • 1 large whole wheat pita bread, cut in half
  • 2 romaine lettuce leaves
  • 1/2 cup Smith's cottage cheese
  • 1/2 cup seedless red grapes, halved
  • 1/2 apple, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup pineapple, fresh or canned (drained)


  1. Place one lettuce leaf in each pita half.
  2. Combine fruit and Smith's cottage cheese in a bowl and spoon into the pita pocket.
